Working families in Dallas County celebrate our election victories, but we continue facing current challenges. Opportunities to inform and organize are always present and pressing.

2019 Women’s March Is Set

Nationwide organizers will continue the success they began January 19, 2017, with more marches on the same date of 2019. One source says that the Dallas march is set to begin at 10AM at Dallas City Hall.

There is a website at https://actionnetwork.org/events/womens-wave-dallas. An enthusiastic discussion is already underway. The Facebook Event is at https://www.facebook.com/events/254985745194144/. As of November 30, it already showed 672 going and 4,100 interested. Women celebrating their unprecedented number of election victories are expected to add to turnout.

The only pro-worker radio program in North Texas, “Workers Beat” at 9 AM Saturdays on KNON 89.3FM, will be promoting the march. Guest Sherron Molina of the Coalition of Labor Union Women has been invited to talk about the march on December 1.

Immigration Is Our Issue

Dallas Labor is taking part in a citizenship campaign to help working families navigate the torturous path to legal citizenship. The first organizing forum is set for 11AM December 15 at Alliance/AFT. A second is already set for January.

The constant anti-immigrant barrage from the Trump Administration has made immigration a giant issue for all working families. But does Mr. Trump have the solution?

After more than a century of failed immigration policies, American union leaders realized that working families cannot rely on corporate America to solve our problems. Our answer, the only one that will work, is to organize!
