Unions: America’s Best Hope
If America’s election democracy is taken away from us, what’s left? Only concerted action by ORGANIZED freedom-loving Americans!
On September 24, America was shocked by the many news announcements that President Trump hopes to set the November elections aside. When asked if he would abide by the election results, he said, “We’ll have to see…” He went on to say that the Supreme Court will probably decide. On September 26th, he is expected to name his third Supreme Court Justice for a clear anti-worker majority!
Presently, America’s unions and our many allies are throwing ourselves into winning a landslide election turnout for working families. Even if the election are set aside, labor’s organizing efforts prepare America for future victories through concerted action.
Volunteer right now by clicking https://forms.gle/LzfESM8waCEkd3Yt5. The next regular phone banking night is September 29th, but those who are already trained are calling to help union voters get registered.
Retirees are expected to start voting by mail before October begins. The Alliance for Retired Americans is calling retirees. Labor’s North Texas candidate endorsements are on our web site at https://www.texasaflcio.org/dallas/labors-election-work/november-3-candidates-north-texas

Youth Makes the Difference
Our own Travis Cantwell of Young Active Labor Leaders is soliciting other young activists to join our election fight. He was joined by Ivy Vance on our first phone bank. Angela DeFilippo leads the union youth in Tarrant County.
The youngest state AFL-CIO president, Kooper Caraway of South Dakota, speaks on Facebook at 6PM on Friday, September 25. Caraway received his first union training in Dallas. He will join Lewis Fulbright, Kenneth Williams, and Gene Lantz in an effort to raise funds for the Texas Alliance for Retired Americans.
