Hit it Hot and Heavy During Final Week

Labor supporters are increasing the pace now that early voting is underway and election day looms near. Those who have had a few minutes of direction from Political Director Mariah Warwick will be phone banking on their own all weekend and through the final week. Even 30 minutes of your time can make a difference!

April 24-May 1 is also the National AFL-CiO “Week of Action for the PRO Act.” The Protect-the-Right-to-Organize Act is vital for democracy and progress in America. The week will include observances of Workers Memorial Day in honor of the many workers killed and injured during the past year.

All efforts come together for powerful events on Saturday, May 1. Activists will begin to gather at 8 AM at Everglade Park, 5100 N Jim Miller, for set up. The Car Caravan will help get out last-minute Election Day voters. The picnic begins at 11 AM with softball, free food, music and speakers. We will be joining labor organizations all over the world in celebrating International Workers Day.

The new Texas AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer, Leonard Aguilar, will be our spcial guest!
