Are You Shopping Union?

Kroger is the union grocery in North Texas. They recently announced that they are buying Albertson's, a big chain that is hardly organized in Texas even though their workers are represented by United Food and Commercial Workers in other states. In our area, UFCW 540 organizes the Kroger meat and seafood departments, while UFCW 1000 organizes the rest. Both locals participate actively in the Dallas AFL-CIO Central Labor Council.

United Food and Commercial Workers are part of Dallas CLC

Union-conscious activists shop at Kroger and let the employees know that we're backing them. As Kroger takes over Albertson's, we'll be looking to see how we might help our siblings there.

Both Local 540 and 1000 are especially known for their commitment to winning elections for working families.

Labor Prioritizes Winning

“America is at an inflection point. Our freedom to have a strong union, affordable health care, a dignified retirement and a say in our democracy are all on the line this election.” --AFL-CIO Daily Brief
