After a scrupulous screening process, the Dallas AFL-CIO selected these candidates:

Council District 1: Chad West

Council District 2: Adam Medrano

Council District 3: Casey Thomas

Council District 4: Endorsement wlll await the runoff

Council District 5: Ruth Torres

Council District 6: Omar Narvaez

Council District 7: Endorsement will await the runoff

Council District 8: Tennell Atkins

Council District 9: Erin Moore

Council District 10: D’Andrala D. Alexander

Council District 11: Curtis T. Harris

Council District 12: Cara Mendelsohn

Council District 13: Jennifer S. Gates

Council District 14: Philip T. Kingston

Richardson City Council District 4: Johnny Lanzillo

Dallas ISD School Board position 4: Amalia Luzano

Dallas ISD School Board 5: David King

Dallas ISD School Board 7: Brent McDougal

The labor movement has an extensive schedule of support activities that include phone banking and block walking. Endorsements came by democratic discussion and vote after a careful process involving questionnaires and personal interviews by panelists of union members. The results were then quantified, discussed, and voted on.

Fun, Fest, and Union Fight!

Labor Action Group presents an afternoon of celebration and commitment to organized labor at 3 PM Saturday, March 23, at UAW 848, 2218 E. Main in  Grand Prairie. Folk singer Kenny Winfree will be among the performers.

The fest will celebrated Local 848’s 75th anniversary as a fighting union, and will continue that fight by helping Committee Corey Gregg’s children. Gregg was terminated from his job while carrying out his duties as a union representative. Join the fight, join the fun!
