Fight "Death by 1000 Cuts!"

The Musk/Trump Administration has shown that they intend to destroy America’s labor movement. Last night, March 27, they issued an Executive Order to take away bargaining rights from almost all federal unions. Their plans are underway to do the same for public workers, which would presumably include the post office, teachers, and firefighters. It is expected that private employers will not be far behind.

The Texas AFL-CIO invited Central Labor Council leaders to an emergency meeting at 10AM this morning, March 28. American Federation of Government Employees regional leader Shannon Faulk, in tears, explained the calamitous situation. “Last night’s executive order pretty much took away collective bargaining rights at every agency except for a select few,” she began.

National AFL-CIO called a similar emergency meeting for 2PM today, March 28. Leaders of international unions are also holding emergency meetings today.

Your labor movement is fighting in every arena against the aspiring dictators' plan to undermine working families with “the death of a thousand cuts.” Locals, national unions, central labor councils, state federations and national federations are setting up phone calling, direct lobbying, town hall meetings, public events, and outreach to newspersons to help mobilize working families in the fight to save ourselves.

In the past week, Dallas labor activists and retirees attended protests with the Postal Employees, the Letter Carriers, and the Federal Workers at the Environmental Protective Agency. As the aspiring dictators make it harder to win by legislation or the courts, street actions intensify.

Fortunately for all of us, that's what we're really good at!

Coordination Needed More Than Ever

The aspiring Musk/Trump dictatorship has birthed the hottest protest movement of our lifetimes. Just look at the list of local activities below. Coordination would make all our protest activities more effective.

Last Friday, we held our first Coordinating Committee meeting on ZOOM and began outlining ways to sharpen our effect. A face-to-face meeting the following day began specific plans for the week from April 26 to May 4, bookends for International Workers Day on Thursday, May 1. It looks like Dallas activists will be holding a major march on the afternoon of April 27 and other activities will take place all week. Outreach is underway to all individuals and organizations that want to stand together.

If you are interested in helping coordinate and build the fightback, Register here.  If you registered last week, you need not register again as the ZOOM link will be the same.
