The Dallas AFL-CIO finalized our endorsements for the upcoming local elections. We also went over some of the most fearful legislative developments of our lifetimes. On the upside, we reviewed activities and future actions that will help working families win.

The elections page on our website has the latest endorsements, a list of union printers, and handy phone numbers of our elected politicians.

Unions provide the largest, strongest, and most consistent elements of the many fights for justice and freedom. The level of protest activity, and our participation, is at historic levels. There are beginning to be some indications that the various protest causes and organizations will begin cooperating and form one mighty, irresistible force for working families. There are several real, unreasonable but real, obstacles to our unity that must be overcome. We are sponsoring an on-line meeting this evening, March 21, at 6:30 PM for anybody who wants to help pull the movement together. Register here.

On Saturday at 4PM, a face-to-face meeting for unity will take place at 2533 Cedar Crest Blvd in Dallas. A quick glance at the many activities listed below should convince anybody that coordination is vital.

Labor is providing more ways to keep up with the increasing pace of developments. Everyone is encouraged to join the Department of People Who Work for a Living. Please also subscribe to the Texas AFL-CIO weekly newsletter by writing to labor@texasaflcio.org. We are fighting for working families in every available arena.

AFGE and AFT are fighting to save our schools
