November 3rd pushes you to commit. All of the parties and all of the candidates of all sides and persuasions are begging for your help. All of the causes are desperate. From every corner, you are being told that the future is up to you, and it is.

Stick with Labor

Your labor movement, politically led by the AFL-CIO federation, offers the best hope for American families. Every campaign we take on is for the benefit of working families. Every candidate is carefully screened for their commitment to working families. Every action campaign is directed to the most important aspect of the crisis we are all trying to live through. Joining with the labor movement insures more than immediate success, it also organizes long-term to a better future.

The priority national campaign is to make Congress take action on the pandemic and the economy. The HEROES Act would provide $3 trillion. The Senate refused to consider it, but labor continues to push hard. Contact cfiles@aflcio.org

The Texas AFL-CIO intends to win statewide in November. They are signing everybody up for political outreach work. Training is provided.

Your Dallas AFL-CIO will hold its annual kickoff and fundraiser, as always, on Labor Day morning.  State President Rick Levy will be the main speaker. Fund raising is underway.

At every level, the labor movement is committed to saving the Post Office and American Democracy.

The AFL-CIO provides the best way for you to direct your donations and energy to succeed!

Retirees Celebrate

The Texas Alliance for Retired Americans works with labor. August 14 is their special day to celebrate Social Security and Medicare while committing to continue fighting for them. We have been instrumental is fighting off every effort to privatize and undermine these critical programs. President Trump's move to destroy all income to the programs is only the latest and most immediate threat. The battle continues and our army grows! Contact Judy4tara@aol.com to enlist!

AFL-CIO Likes Biden/Harris

National union leaders, including President Trumka of AFL-CIO, are posting their satisfaction with Joe Biden's choice for Vice-President Kamala Harris. Here is one typical statement from the newsletter of the Communications Workers:

"Joe Biden's historic choice of Kamala Harris makes a strong, pro-worker ticket even stronger," said CWA President Chris Shelton. "Senator Harris never backs down from a fight, whether it's stopping companies from stealing wages, ensuring that our labor laws cover all workers, or calling out the worst members of the Trump administration and demanding they be held accountable. Donald Trump and his corrupt cronies have failed us, and CWA members will be doing every single thing they can to make sure Joe and Kamala win this fall."
