Get On the Victory Bus!

Please do everything you can to win on November 8, then get on the bus to make sure the winning politicians know you backed them. Labor activists, union and non-union, will start boarding the bus at 7:30PM election evening from 1408 North Washington. We will tour the “watch parties” together instead of dividing our forces. That way, winners will know just who was responsible for their victories.

During the October 20 Dallas Central Labor Council meeting, Texas AFL-CIO election leader Marilyn Davis gave a glowing report on what we have done so far. She laid out plans for more phone banking and block walking leading up to an all-day mobilization November 8th and fun together that night. Our union activists have knocked on doors from Denton to Sunnyvale.

Marilyn Davis, political leader

There will be block walking every Saturday at 9:30 from 1408 N Washington. November 5 will be the biggest “Solidarity Day.” Phone banking takes place every day. There are zoom meetings to help people get involved. Davis said, “We are going to take Dallas by storm!” Contact marilyn@texasaflcio.org, please.

Valerie Hutchins, vmhutch01@gmail.com, made a plea for people to sign up for the 3-hour paid training to work at the polls. Democrats sign up by calling 214-821-8331. Republicans call 214-641-9278.

Jason Tomlinson, jtomlinson.dallasaflcio@gmail.com, spoke further on electoral activities. Judy Bryant, judy4tara@aol.com, said that the Texas Alliance for Retired Americans has already carried a number of activities and will have even more. They are calling Texas seniors from home. They will join the big Early Voting Rally at 10AM on October 24 at 600 Commerce downtown.

We are throwing everything we have toward victory on November 8!
