The Dallas AFL-CIO expects to release our Dallas City Council election endorsements very soon. Every endorsed candidate goes through an extensive questionnaire and interview process. Our endorsements represent what is best for working families.

Endorsements will be listed on our web sitefacebook pagetwitter accountand Instagram accountPlease share them widely for maximum effect. Sharing the endorsement information is your first step toward winning these elections for working families. The second step is to contact political director Mariah Warwick and volunteer to help campaign.

National and State Federations Fight On

The National AFL-CIO celebrates the signing of the American Rescue Plan. The PRO Act (Protect the Right to Organize) has passed the House. National AFL-CIO is calling for structural changes in voting rights and building infrastructure.

Texas AFL-CIO continues the daily battle against the worst Texas legislation and for the best. Some of the outstanding bills to uphold democracy have been filed by our own labor-endorsed North Texas Representatives. Keep up with developments by contacting Ed Sills and asking for regular updates.

Who Sets Labor's Tactics?

National AFL-CIO recently cautioned labor's supporters about which actions lead to the best results for working families. Specifically, a number of organizations are apparently setting their own strategies for winning the union drive for Amazon workers. Well meaning labor supporters are being asked to join support groups and participate in actions that were not part of the Amazon workers' strategy.

The argument is not about the best strategies. The argument is about WHO decides the best way to win, and those decisions must rest with the workers who are putting their careers and their families' lives on the line.
