Activists will kick off labor’s runoff election effort at 6 PM Thursday, May 13, at 1408 N Washington. Contact Political Director Mariah Warwick  now!

Dallas labor has a good chance for further victories during the June 5 runoff. Exact election dates will be published. It is safe to assume that voters who are eligible to vote by mail will begin receiving ballots by mid-May. Some of them failed to get their 2021 vote-by-mail application in time for the first round, but they can still start at http://register2vote.org.

Dallas Joined World Labor Celebration

Young Active Labor Leaders had three good reasons to organize labor's May 1 festival: It was the last day of a week of action for the Protect-the-Right-to-Organize (PRO) Act; it was election day; it was International Workers Day. All three goals were well served.

The PRO Act has been passed in the U.S. House and is still picking up support in the Senate. Labor’s efforts paid off with 6 outright wins, 1 loss, and 2 runoffs for the June 5th final election to Dallas City Council. International Workers Day was big all over the world!

Protect Voters!

Republicans have bullied their main voter suppression bills through the Texas House and Senate. Resistance continues. Many activists are counting on federal bills to overcome reaction in state legislatures. A press conference and motorcade for voter rights will begin at Dallas City Hall, 1500 Marilla, at 1 PM on Saturday, May 8. Among the speakers is Pastor Dr. Frederick D. Haynes, III. They are asking people to register in advance.
