WINNING COALITION BUILDING CONTINUES

Unions win when we organize coalitions with our natural allies. An excellent example is the democracy coalition put together by our state federation during the redistricting fight. The American Federation of Teachers just created an excellent example by joining the nationwide civil rights coalition to carry out a boycott of Target stores over racist policies. Our Dallas union affiliates create coalitions for strikes, contract fights, and organizing drives.

The Young Active Labor leaders are experts in forming coalitions with unions, civil rights organizations, church people, and community groups. The Texas Alliance for Retired Americans is in the process of creating a coalition to fight against Donald Trump's plan to end vote by mail. If interested, sign up here.
