Oppose the Dictatorship!

American labor is moving to halt the growth of Trump's dictatorship. In Texas, our most immediate battle is to stop unfair redistricting, which the state's Republicans have prioritized over flood relief and other desperate needs. The Texas AFL-CIO and local labor leaders need us to attend a major rally at 3:30PM July 28 at the University of Texas at Arlington, 701 S Nedderman Dr, Arlington, TX 76019. Sign up here.

This is from our Political Director, Earnest Tilley: "We have been told that free parking is available in lots F11, 12, and 38. Any other lot charges $30."  Car pooling may be advisable.

Lou Luckhardt is offering to drive Dallasites to the Arlington rally in his van. Riders will gather at 2PM at 1408 N Washington. Reserve a seat by contact lluckhardt.dallasaflcio@gmail.com.

After the rally, volunteer speakers will be granted two minutes each for testimony. Sign up to testify

Everyone who cares about the people of Texas, union or non-union, are finding ways to oppose this latest power grab. The Democratic Party is sponsoring an important rally at Lake Cliff Park at 10AM Saturday, July 26. Everybody is encouraged to take part in both public events as well as calling, petitioning, and rousing our neighbors to the fight.

As an indication of America's peril, political observer Stacey Abrams has outlined 10 steps to autocracy and showed that we are at number nine. Your labor movement is responding with a nationwide campaign that includes bus tours, on-line campaigns, and physical rallies and marches. The Dallas AFL-CIO has agreed with the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists in calling for a nationwide solidarity day. At present, most plans point toward coming together as never before on the first Monday of September, Labor Day.

Sponsor and attend Dallas Labor Day
