CWA Leads Fights

The Communications Workers have a big weekend. Saturday, December 11th, is their nationwide Day of Action against AT&T’s outsourcing, job cuts, and union busting. They are continuing to gather donations for the North Texas Food bank in the lobby of their building at 1408 N Washington. Contact Earnest Tilly etilley@cwa6215.org to help.

CWA-TSEU, the state workers' union, is holding a Community Town Hall at 1414 N Washington Avenue 2-4PM December 11. Contact the Texas State Employees Union  mgoodwin@cwa-TSEU.org.

CWA organizers are bringing many more workers into the union movement. Notably, main stream journalists are joining the union. Workers at the non-profit agency Integral Care in Austin have announced they are seeking to speak up together through the Communications Workers of America.

CWA Local 6215 member Robin Johnson had a wonderful op-ed printed in the Austin-American Statesman. She concluded, "I’m fighting to guarantee that broadband buildout in Texas is done responsibly and equitably. Now is your chance to make a difference too. Reach out to your local elected officials, state senators and representatives, mayors, and city council members to educate them, and ask how they will guarantee that broadband is built better in Texas." Read Robin's entire presentation at https://bit.ly/3pCndtY.
