Young Active Labor Leaders (YALL) is accepting support and applications from all union and non-union activists to attend their July 26 convention in Dallas.

Let's get behind our youth movement!

Some scholarship money is already available. Activists under 40 are registering or applying for scholarships on line by clicking here. Labor supporters of all ages can contribute on line by clicking here. Checks go to: Texas AFL-CIO/Young Active Labor Leaders/P.O. Box 12727/Austin, TX 78711. Supporters who send as little as $100 or as much as $10,000 will be acknowledged at the convention, but all donations are eagerly accepted.

North Texas residents may also consider hosting activists in their homes, churches or union halls so that they won't have hotel costs keeping them away.

Texans support YALL not only because they are training future leadership, but also because they have already taken the lead in much-needed union solidarity, organizing, and making community connections. Click here for more information or contact President Travis Cantwell at (972)821-6928 or state@txyall.org.

Labor Report Green Lights Organizing

The Bureau of Labor Statistics report for June shows that hiring is still strong, and that is the main condition for labor victories in hiring and negotiations. The main national unemployment rate stayed low at 4.1% and Texas numbers are even better. Because of the hiring levels, wages have continued to remain slightly above the inflation rate.

Truth Gets Scarcer

Labor's side of news developments has always been hard to get, but the crumbling of mainstream news agencies is making it harder. CBS News capitulated to corporate and Trump pressure in the past week.  Our local labor talk show at 9 AM every Saturday on KNON.org and 89.3FM continues to resist.

Bonnie Mathias and Gene Lantz broadcast honest labor news

On July 5, the controversy over electoral politics continues. The President of Dallas Chapter of Texas Alliance for Retired Americans and Secretary of the Dallas County Democrats, Kenneth Williams, will give his opinion as to why talk about forming a Labor Party is wrong.
