Anyone who has picketed with Teamsters Local 997 at Molson Coors in Fort Worth knows that they are going to win their contract fight. By joining them in solidarity, we’ll just bring their victory sooner. They picket every weekday at two entrances to the brewery at 7412 South Freeway. A major rally is planned for noon Sunday, March 17. Let’s go!
Solidarity Roars
Dallas AFL-CIO principal officer Lou Luckhardt has received word that the state AFL-CIO leadership will join us as we assist a hundred or more leaders of the Autoworkers union on March 21. They are meeting at the North Texas Food Bank, 3677 Mapleshade Lane in Plano, at 8:30AM to help package food for hungry people. The food bank usually needs volunteers. Retirees from Autoworkers Local 848 hosted friends from the Texas Alliance for Retired Americans as they celebrated “Pi Day” on March 14. They presented a “Hero Award” to Annette Fields on behalf of Congressman Marc Veasey, who always votes right on retiree issues. Labor-endorsed candidate Denise Wilkerson talked about issues in Texas and in District 94, Mid-Cities. The more we get together, the more we win!
