You Will Make History

“Protests were already planned for over 1,000 cities and towns across the nation, but now more locations—including some overseas—have appeared on the official Hands Off and Mobilize websites.” – Newsweek
If you attend one of the many protests tomorrow, April 5, you will probably be part of the largest day of protest in American history. Check the “Hands Off” website to see the growing list of cities involved.
In addition to April 5, there are more-than-countable other worthwhile actions. In other countries, such as Chile and Panama, workers are going on political strikes where they take off work to win changes in government.
Whether you see the big picture or only part of it, you will be welcomed with your own sign, banner, or slogan. The Dallas protest starts at 3PM at Dealey Plaza. The probability of rain drops below 20% all afternoon and evening.

Statistics Are Positive for Organizing
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported a healthy 228,000 new jobs for March. Unemployment ticked up to 4.2% because rising wages are causing more workers to seek jobs, according to the Washington Post. When the labor market is tight, workers have the upper hand.
Dallas AFL-CIO Sets Off Election Activity
Dallas labor and supporters are starting phone banking 3-7PM every Wednesday and Thursday. Door-to-door canvassing begins Saturday the 12th. All activities are directed from 1408 N Washington by Political Director Earnest Tilley. etilley2006@yahoo.com
Coordinate Our Efforts
We are seeing an unprecedented number of people taking an unprecedented number of political actions, but we could be more effective if we coordinated. To that end, on-line meetings for anybody who is interested in working together continue at 6:30PM every Friday. Register (if you haven’t already)
Long-time activists anticipate that the burning pot of worldwide protests are a prelude to what we can expect around the week of May 1, International Workers Day. The Dallas march is set for April 27 at 2PM from Civic
Gardens Park. Every progressive organization should come together by then. Contact mazumdarrick@gmail.com
