Angela "Angi" DeFelippo, IUOE 178

Angi began getting involved with the Labor Movement in 2015, in Houston, when the company she worked for was marked an an organizing target. Identified to be on the organizing committee, Angi recruited leaders, agitated coworkers, and wreaked havoc on management. Once organized, she moved to another company inside the airport to go undercover to build a campaign as a SALT. While organizing with her union, Angi also became active in the Texas Young Active Labor Leaders. YALL pushed her to join the Ruth Ellinger Labor Leaders Program and the AFL-CIO Organizing institute. With new skills at hand and ready to branch out, Angi moved to Dallas, Texas to join United Auto Workers International Union. Organizing campaigns and increasing membership until the program had ended. In 2017, Angi joined the Texas AFL-CIO to run Labor’s strategic plan in SD10. During which she learned the political landscape, how to understand campaigns, and how to run canvas teams which lead to victories for working people in Texas. After the campaign season was over Angi stayed in Fort Worth Texas as the Political Director.

Throughout this time, Angi has also founded the Houston and Fort Worth chapters of YALL, was voted in as the President for the State, created a dues and financial structure for the organization, and Co-Chaired the Texas Women’s Committee, which held a training of a hundred women from across the state. 

In her spare time, Angi is working on her Political Science degree, enjoys playing video games, scuba diving, traveling, and spending time with family, friends, and her two dogs Rocky and Hercules.
