It's Better Than Good for Labor

The Texas AFL-CIO accepted all of Dallas labor’s electoral endorsements. New statistics show that the job situation is right for labor’s continuing successes. Big money is heading into North Texas and President Biden is making sure that organized labor is included in plans.

All of the endorsements from the Texas AFL-CIO political convention are listed on our web site. You can also find a summary of the resolutions passed. At the top of the Texas ticket, Senate Candidate Colin Allred looks very strong. The Dallas newspaper reported that he raised more money than any opponent, including incumbent Senator Ted Cruz.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics says that a whopping 353,000 jobs were added in January. Estimates for December also went up. The unemployment rate remains lower than 4%, as it has for the last 2 years running. Wages outpaced inflation again and rose at an annual rate of 4.5%. Labor productivity, the amount of wealth created by a single worker in a single hour, rose 3.2% in the last quarter of 2023.

President Biden’s infrastructure initiatives are generating building plans for North Texas, and union labor is prioritized. We also expect major money pouring in when the World Cup Games take place in 2026.

We’re Stronger Because of Our Friends

It’s Black History Month, and national AFL-CIO has published an extensive reading list. Together, labor and civil rights are dynamite!

We update the action calendar on our web page as new events are set. You can combine labor’s Google calendar into yours. We're always looking for speaking opportunities for our Speakers Bureau.
