Let's Communicate!

Our labor movement is growing in size and strength. Each of us is part of an intelligent network on behalf of working families. The more we improve that network through communication, the stronger we are. Public speaking, e-mail, social media, postcards, letters-to-editors, telephoning, shop floor discussions, and door-to-door canvassing are channels currently available to all members and supporters through our Central Labor Council.

Our Speakers Bureau  has exceptional opportunities to reach out to religious crowds through the national Labor in the Pulpit program. They provide us with materials and show us how. We've already scheduled a labor speaker at the Oak Cliff Unitarian Church for September 1. Working together, we can get more.  Our Political Committee, led by Brother Earnest Tilley, etilley2006@yahoo.com, can help each of us improve our communications network.

Annually, all of labor and our supporters get a chance to communicate together under one roof. The roof for this year is the fabulous Longhorn Ballroom and the occasion is the Dallas Labor Day Breakfast. Details are on our web site. If you don't have your $40 ticket or $350 organization table yet, send a check to  Dallas AFL-CIO, 1408 N. Washington Ave. #240, Dallas, TX 75204or pay online at https://square.link/u/Pfw3iALZ. Retirees Raise Their Participation

The Dallas Chapter of Texas Alliance for Retired Americans, helped greatly by Congressman Marc Veasey, raised political funds on August 7. As the pledges come in, they expect to pay for three tables at the Labor Day Breakfast. In the past, they have never had more than one! Retirees honored Social Security and Organizer Judy Bryant at the luncheon.
