This week, North Texans have a lot to do and a lot of opportunities to do it:

April 28 is Workers Memorial Day. According to ed@texasaflcio, 5,486 workers were killed on the job in 2022. Employers reported 3.5 million work-related injuries and illnesses.

International Workers Day is coming fast, and Dallas has more celebrations than ever. The main celebration will be at 2PM on May 4th at the Postal Employees’ Hall, 2010 Postal Way. Activities will be both indoor and outdoor, so weather is no problem.

George Rangel, a titan of leadership for the school employees’ union, Alliance/AFT, and for the Dallas AFL-CIO, is shifting into retiree mode. Rangel helped guide Dallas school employees through treacherous waters for decades. He served as President of the Dallas AFl-CIO.

Dallas AFL-CIO will start celebrating International Workers Day at 2PM on Saturday, May 4, at the Postal Employees’ Hall, 2010 Postal Way. There will be lots of outdoor stuff to do if we get good weather, and the APWU Hall is big if we don’t.
