Austin: CARE NOT CUTS Press Conference in Support of Prop Q

A coalition of unions, first responders, social workers, and community leaders will announce a diverse coalition of over 20 organizations in support of the upcoming City of Austin’s tax rate election (Proposition Q). The Care Not Cuts Coalition will call on all Austinites to vote in favor of Prop Q. Over 30 organizations have signed on to support the effort.

With federal and state politicians driving harmful cuts, our City and its workers are essential lifelines for working families across Austin. This event will amplify voices that highlight how Prop Q protects vital services, ensuring Austin can continue to grow responsibly and sustainably. They will contrast Prop Q’s vision of care and community with the callous austerity agenda pushed by state politicians and DOGE.
