Union leaders from American Federation of Government Employees locals representing tens of thousands of federal employees will hold a press conference calling on members of Congress to pass bipartisan legislation reopening the federal government.

Speakers include:

  • AFGE Local 2615 President Julian Patrick (Department of Defense)

  • AFGE Local 82 President Isaac Ortiz (Bureau of Prisons)

  • AFGE Local 1050 Vice President Rene Perales (Transportation Security Administration) 

  • Representatives from AFGE Local 3184 (Social Security Administration) and AFGE Local 3922 (Department of Veterans Affairs)
