WHY: While the city prepares for a global event like the World Cup and Fan Fest kicks off, Houston stadium workers are facing the ever-increasing cost of living, including necessities like food, rent, and transportation costs. As we prepare for the eyes of the world to be on Houston, the food service workers that are the backbone of these events are demanding respect on the job.

In 2025, Houston hospitality workers stood up to the industry and demanded better wages and working conditions. Drawing inspiration from the victorious 42-day strike at the Hilton Americas, hospitality workers across the city followed their example and are winning life-changing benefits. As the 2026 World Cup approaches, Houston’s stadium hospitality workers deserve their fair share.
