Statewide: APWU Protect Our Post Office Day of Action

On July 28, the APWU is holding a National Day of Action in a nationwide call to defend one of America's most trusted and treasured institutions — our public Postal Service. Across the country, postal workers and retirees, labor allies, and community members will come together to support a vibrant public Postal Service that serves every community, regardless of the size or distance. The Postal Service has a universal obligation to connect every household, every community, and every ZIP Code. The Postal Service binds communities together, supports local economies, protects democracy, and provides reliable service that private companies cannot and will not replicate.

Americans deserve a Postal Service that remains public, financially secure, and accountable to the people, and is capable of serving every community for generations to come; defends every eligible voter’s right to safely and securely vote by mail; provides common-sense solutions to postal finances, giving the USPS the financial tools it needs to succeed; and embodies a postal leadership that supports this vision. On July 28, we are demanding that our elected leaders:

• Secure the financial future of the Postal Service in a way that works for the American people and preserves postal workers’ jobs;
• Safeguard Vote-by-Mail;
• Ensure that postal leadership represents Main Street, not Wall Street.
