WILLIAM B. “BILL” TUCKER
1927-
William B. “Bill” Tucker approached his duties to the labor movement with a commitment and devotion few others do. For him, union leadership was a way of life.
From his early work in helping establish the metal trades during the 1950s, through his tenure as a Business Manager, and all during his times as an International Representative of the IBEW, Brother Tucker gained a reputation for going above and beyond the call of duty.
When starting an organizing campaign, Brother Tucker threw all his might and energy into the effort. He did the same in his support for equal rights for minorities and women long before it became popular.
His dedication made everyone around him work harder. He was always ready to walk a picket line, and always found money for an out-of-work union member.
Brother Bill Tucker, though retired on disability, continues his commitment to labor on behalf of workers even to this day. He truly is a role model for us all.
