WAYNE WRIGHT JOHNSON JR.

1918-1985

Wayne Wright Johnson, Jr. earned the admiration and respect of the Texas labor movement for his many years of effective work in organizing and serving members of the Laborers Union. 

He was initiated into the Laborers Union #116 in 1949. He was elected Secretary-Treasurer of Local 116 in 1953 and served in that capacity until he became an International Union Representative.

He retired from the Laborers International Union of North America in 1982 after serving as International Representative for 29 years.

Wayne W. Johnson, Jr. was a devoted member of the McKinney Memorial Methodist Church. His many community activities included the NAACP, Coalition of Black Democrats, Retired Senior Volunteers and the Mainland Chamber of Commerce.
