TEXAS – Today, the Texas AFL-CIO Committee on Political Education (COPE) announced their endorsement of Rep. Vikki Goodwin for Texas Lieutenant Governor.

“We need fighters who will take on the billionaires, corporations, and special interests that support Dan Patrick. That’s why we’re proud to endorse Rep. Vikki Goodwin for Lt. Governor,” said Texas AFL-CIO President Leonard Aguilar. “She’s ready to fight shoulder-to-shoulder with workers to win better wages, fully-fund our public schools, and lower health care costs. You can bet on Texas union members turning out this November.”

“Labor unions are more important than ever as working families struggle to keep pace with ever-increasing costs,” said Rep. Vikki Goodwin. “Unions allow workers to have a louder voice at the negotiating table - fighting for better wages, better benefits, and safer working conditions. I am a proud union member, and I fully support my union brothers and sisters and greatly appreciate the Texas AFL-CIO’s endorsement for Lt. Governor of Texas.”

Goodwin was raised in Dallas and has served in the Texas Legislature for four terms, where she became a member of the Texas State Employees Union (TSWU - CWA Local 6186). She is a passionate supporter of Texas public schools and will fight and deliver for all Texas workers.

Early voting for the general election will be Oct. 19-30, with Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026. The list of all Texas AFL-CIO COPE 2026 Primary Runoff endorsements can be found here.
